To make it to 150 ...
I ask you where are the fodders for your blog, when you really need one? No tags floating in the blog-o-sphere these days, no ‘news’ worthy events that need my two cents! I triple checked my drafts folder & even though there are a few things that I have written, it’s just not perfect yet. I should potentially try Preethi’s route and do a walk down memory lane – but me too lazy at this moment, so here I go, I cheat!
No don't be dis-heartened if you stopped by for a wonderful read [such a pompous a**, am I], I am posing a question for you and would greatly appreciate your feedback.
Answer me this – Is there a direct ratio on women becoming working mothers to their moms who did not or vice-versa for that matter? Just a thought that’s floating around in my mind ...

umm... this is something i've thought abt quite often. of course, as always, i haven't reached any conclusion.
but i think yes. maybe it's something to do with conditioning....
i dunno! i feel i am more comfy working 'coz my mom was working and i really have no childhood scars at daycare etc! :D
i feel if bro and me grew up fine, so should Cubby!
i rarely fret about what he must be doing at home etc! there are moments ofcos you wish you could just stay at home, but it isnt really option for me nor can i do stay at home long term! so i just dont bother too much! :)
cheers!

@ Ray - conditioning or a rebellion? ;)
@ mama-mia - good to see other instances too.
Congrats on your 150th :) And you can make up your own tag and pass it around :)
@ homecooked - Thx! Hmm there's food for thought!
do the trip down memory lane soon... as for your question.. my mom did work.. and I do not now.. I intend to go back though!!
congrats to 150th.. here's to more!!! I dunno if there is one - like you say, conditionng or rebellion? I think with our generation, it is becoming less of an option to not work. even the SAHMs I know do *something* to keep themselves mentally occupied. I don't think anybody in our generation wants to remain a pure housewife. But I come from a family where women worked. My grandmom was a lawyer, my mom a teacher.
i don't know which...
but my mom was a housewife... i'm currently unemployed, but dying to get back to work.
on the other hand... a very close friend of mine... her mom used to work, and my friend works. but she HATES working. genuinely. she only keeps a job coz they need the cash. she would easily toss her job the day her hubby can earn enough for them both!
so i don't know... right now, we're both doing what our moms did. but it's really not out of choice! :D
@ preethi - soon....
@ Dottie - It was just a thought. But I see your point abt today's generation, I guess its the negative attitude to the term "housewife" tht irritates every woman.
@ Ray - Interesting. I guess we need a bigger poll and even then we might not find an answer :D
